Justification for classification or non-classification

The eye and skin irritation potential of ‘fatty acids, palm-oil, hydrogenated’ can be deduced based on information on the individual constituents. Studies conducted on the various components suggest that these are not irritating to skin and eyes. Overall, the weight of evidence suggests that ‘fatty acids, palm-oil, hydrogenated’ does not present skin or eye irritation potential.

Exposure via the inhalation route is not expected given the estimated low vapor pressure of the substance and the risk management measures implemented where necessaryif the substance is handled in aerosolized or spray form.

Based on the above information, the substance is not considered to require classification for skin or eye irritation according to Directive 67/548/EC or Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
