Conclusions:
This study evaluated acute toxicity caused by a test substance, Fatty acids, C8-18 and C18-unsatd., zinc salts in the fish(Zebrafish, Danio rerio). In accordance with the guidelines for range finding test, the treatment group received 15.00, 24.00, 38.40, 61.44 and 98.30 mg/L of test substance. The treatment and a control group remained under a semi-static test for 96 h, and then the median lethal concentration(LC50) was calculated.
During an exposure period, the mortality in the control group was not exceed 10 % and the D.O. concentration was measured at least 60 % of the air saturation value.
According to the results of range finding test, control group and 15.00, 24.00, 38.40, 61.44, 98.30 mg/L treatment groups were set. As a result of analysis of the test substance at initiation of exposure and at 24(old and new), 48(old and new), 72(old and new), 96 h, the mean measured concentration of treatment groups were 4.06, 6.45, 10.7, 16.1 and 26.6 mg/L (27.1, 26.9, 27.9, 26.2 and 27.1 % of nominal concentration). Therefore, all results were determined of the mean measured concentration.
During an exposure period, The LC50 was determined to be 16.824 mg/L(95 % confidence limits: 14.126~21.166 mg/L) at 48 h and 96 h after exposure, respectively.
The highest concentration causing no mortality was determined to be 6.45 mg/L at 48 and 96 h after exposure, respectively. And the lowest concentration causing 100 % mortality was determined to be 26.6 mg/L and 48 and 96 h after exposure.
