Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is hydrolytically stable based on a OECD TG 111 and EPA 161-1 followed study. The half-life of the substance in the atmosphere by hydroxyl radical oxidation is estimated to be in a range of 12.38 – 21.3 hours (Atkinson method). For further risk assessment, DT50 = 21.3 h was used assuming the worst-case. Two direct photolysis studies (EPA 161-2) with continuous irradiation (xenon arc; wavelengths > 290 nm) are available. The average of the effect values (DT50 = 13.1 days) from these studies was used as key value in a weight of evidence approach for chemical safety assessment. Two studies on photodegradation in soil (EPA 163-1) are available. The study representing the worst-case effect (i.e. showed higher DT50 value) was included as key study. In this key study, the DT50 was determined to be 263 days under irradiation with 12 hours light-dark cycle by Xenon arc lamp (wavelength >= 290 nm) at 25 °C.
