Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. If reaction persists seek medical

advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus

should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Avoid dust

formation. Absorb spill using a suitable inert material (eg

sand or soil). Transfer to suitable containers or use an

approved sealed industrial vacuum machine. Dispose of by

incineration or at a landfill site in accordance with local

regulations. Wash spill site with copious amounts of water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions when handling organic

chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid ingestion,

inhalation and skin and eye contact. Wear suitable

protective clothing, impervious gloves and safety goggles

(BS 2092). A half-mask (prEN404) and filter (prEN141) are

also recommended.

Storage: Store dried substance at room temperature over silica gel in

tightly closed containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: In view of the very high water solubility and toxicity to

fish, the substance should not be disposed of at a landfill

unless the site is completely sealed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. The substance may be disposed of at a

suitable facility. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of

nitrogen and sulfur should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged to sewage

systems or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of articles.

Recovery for reuse is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles containing the substance may be disposed of as

domestic waste.
