Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

The determination of the boiling point was performed via DSC (differential scanning calorimetry.
In all three determinations a sharp endothermic event was detected which can be interpreted,
based on the pre-test, as melting point.
The melting point is stated as:
70.40 ± 0.59 °C (343.55 ± 0.59 K)
The events which occurred after the melting point cannot clearly be identify. According to
the observations of the pre-test, the test item became turbid and more yellow at 248 °C
then at 251 °C signs of superheating (sizzle, plop and rising damp) were observed. After
cooling down the test item solidified as orange – yellow wax.
The main reaction was observed in a range of 359.7 to 415.44 °C. After the measurement
the test item left in the crucible was brown coloured. As the first DSC pre-test measurement
showed that besides the melting event no further reaction could be detected until 275
°C it can be believed that the boiling / decomposition process starts about this temperature.
As the observed colour change can be a sign for decomposition of the test item the
boiling point cannot be determined.
Therefore, under these circumstances the boiling point cannot be determined because
of signs of decomposition of the test item during the boiling stage in range of 359.74 to
415.44 °C (632.89 to 688.59 K).
The mean of atmospheric during the determination was 999.2 mbar.
No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study outcome.
Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid.
