- Justification:
Due to the structure similarity and the similarity in physico-chemical properties (water solubility, Pow and vapor pressure) indicating comparable environmental and ecotoxicological properties, the PBT-properties of L-TME (CAS 3373-59-9) is derived on the basis of the PBT-properties of the analogue substance L-TEE (CAS 23926-51-4) using read across.
L-TEE is readily biodegradable and therefore not considered as persistent or very persistent. Log Pow for L-TEE < 0.3 and therefore the criteria for bioaccumulative are not met. The aquatic toxicity (EC50) towards (algae, crustacean and fish) of L-TEE is determined to be > 0.01 mg/L and therefore the toxicity criteria are not met. L-TEE is therefore evaluated to not being a PBT/vPvB substance.
Therefore, L-TME is concluded not to be a PBT/vPvB substance.
