Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation:

Remove the affected person to the fresh air and place in a

resting position. Seek medical advice immediately.

Emergency measure - Eyes:  Rinse out thoroughly with large quantities of water. Seek

medical advice immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off immediately with soap and water. Seek medical

treatment.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice immediately and present the packaging or

label. Get the affected person to drink water in small sips.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Directed water spray, foam

Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, hydrogen

chloride

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respirator.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage:

Take up using a suitable device and, if necessary, fill into

closable containers. An industrial vacuum cleaner of

approved type should preferably be used to take up the

substance. The containers filled with the substance must be sufficiently labelled (if appropriate, in accordance with

the Technical Rule 201). Clean contaminated objects and the

floor thoroughly with water and tensides in observance of the environmental regulations.

Do not allow the substance to enter drains or aquatic environments.

Wear a tightly closing protective chemical suit and a self-contained respirator.

Handling and storage

Handling:

All work processes must be designed so that the exposure as

the result of inhalation of the substance is kept as low as

possible and eye contact is excluded. Furthermore, skin contact with the substance should be avoided.

Closed or at least dustproof devices should be used during

fill, transfer, metering and sampling. In the case of

handling in open systems, any dust that may form should be

extracted directly at the point of origin. The extracted air should only be returned to the work area after sufficient

cleaning with tested equipment.

Respiratory protection

(e.g. mask) should be worn if technical extraction or

ventilation measures are not possible or are insufficient.

To avoid skin contact, tested gloves (chemical-resistant

gloves) and suitable protective clothing should be worn.

Safe eye protection is absolutely essential.

Eye douches should be made available in the immediate

vicinity of the work area and their location labelled

conspicuously.

Outdoor clothes should be kept separate from work clothes. Due to the potential risk of a dust explosion, potential

ignition sources should be removed from the work area if

there is the possible risk of the formation of dust. Furthermore, measures should be taken to prevent static

discharges.

Storage:

Use unbreakable containers which must be secured against

falling. Keep containers dry and tightly closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel bunghole drums with PE inner lining

Exposure controls / personal protection

During its whole lifecycle all neccessary measures in accordance to Art. 18(4) of the REACH legislation are untertaken to minimise emissions and any resulting exposure.

Eye protection: tightly fitting safety glasses

Hand  protection: Material:PVC/ Nitrile  rubber  gloves. Glove  thickness:1,2 mm, With solid  dry substances permeation  is not to be expected, therefore  the breakthrough-time  for  this protective  glove  has not been  measured. These  types of  protective  gloves  are  offered  by various  manufacturers.  Please note  the manufacturers ́detailed  statements, especially about  the minimum  thickness and  the  minimum breakthrough  time. Consider  also the  particular  working conditions  under  which the  gloves  are  being  used.

Skin and  body protection: protective  clothing

Respiratory  protection: Use respiratory  protection  unless  adequate  local exhaust  ventilation is provided  or  exposure  assessment demonstrates  that exposures  are  within  recommended  exposure  guidelines.

General Protective measures: Do  not inhale  dust. Avoid  contact with skin, eyes and  clothing. Observe  the usual  precautions  for  handling  chemicals.

Stability and reactivity

Reacts with water under formation of hydrochloric acid.

Vigorous reactions with bases possible.

Keep away from acids, bases, alkohols, amines.

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Protect from moisture.

Disposal considerations

Product: Product  should  be taken  to a  suitable and  authorized  waste disposal  site in accordance  with relevant  regulations  and  if necessary after consultation  with the waste  disposal  operator and/or  the competent  Authorities.

Contaminated  packaging: Packaging  that cannot  be cleaned  should  be disposed  of  as product  waste
