First-aid measures

1. Description of first aid measures

General information: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely.

After inhalation: Supply fresh air, if required oxygen, consult a physician. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

After contact with skin: Wash off immediately with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes.Seek medical treatment immediately.

After contact with eyes: Remove contact lens. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical treatment immediately.

After ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink. Summon a doctor immediately.

2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

No data available

3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treat symptoms.

Fire-fighting measures

1. Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry chemical, water-spray

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Full water jet.

2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

In the event of fire the following can be released: nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

3. Advice for firefighters

In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective

suit. Wear full protective suit.

Additional information

Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Cool containers at risk with water spray jet. Collect

contaminated firefighting water separately, must not be discharged into the drains.

Accidental release measures

1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Use personal protective clothing. Get unprotected persons to safety. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away

from sources of ignition - No smoking. Use breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dust/fumes.

2. Environmental precautions

Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/ground water.

3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Take up mechanically and send for disposal.

After taking up the material dispose according to regulation.

4. Reference to other sections

See Section  information on safe handling.

See Section  information on personal protection equipment.

See Section  information on disposal.

Handling and storage

1. Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling: Provide appropriate ventilation and exhaust ventilation at the workplaces.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: No specific fire preventions necessary.

72. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Keep container tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Keep only in original container

Advice on storage compatibility: Incompatible with oxidizing agents. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Further information on storage conditions: Recommended storage temperature: at room temperature. Protect from frost.

3. Specific end use(s)

Corrosion inhibitor

The substance must be handled under strictly controlled conditions as laid out in Article 18 paragraph 4 REACH-regulation. DETAILED information on risk management measures recommended to the user in accordance with Art. 18 paragraph 4 and ECHA REACH Guidance on intermediates (2010), Annex 3 and Practical Guide 16 (2014) is attached to section 13 of the IUCLID dossier.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Protective and hygiene measures: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.

- Eye/face protection: Tightly fitting goggles (EN 166).

- Hand protection: Protective gloves (EN 374)

Recommended material [type, thickness, permeation time]: PVC (Polyvinyl chloride), 0,7 mm, protective index

6, corresponding to 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374.

Glove material must be impermeable and resistant against product / substance / preparation. Gloves material

should comply with breakthrough times, permeation rates, and degradation. Requirements can vary as a

function of the use. Therefore it is necessary to adhere additionally to the recommendations given by the

manufacturer of protective gloves. Follow the recommendations of the glove manufacturer for breakthrough

properties especially for workplace conditions involving mechanical stress and contact duration. The exact

break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves.

- Skin protection: Protective suit. Long sleeved clothing

- Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Particle filter P3.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity: No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.

2. Chemical stability: The product is stable under storage at normal ambient temperatures.

3. Possibility of hazardous reactions: No hazardous reactions known.

4. Conditions to avoid: No data available

5. Incompatible materials: Oxidizing agents. Acids and bases.

6. Hazardous decomposition products: In the event of fire the following can be released: nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Disposal considerations

- Advice on disposal: Do not discharge into the drains or bodies of water. Disposal in accordance with local regulations.

- Waste disposal number of waste from residues/unused products:

160509 WASTES NOT OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN THE LIST; gases in pressure containers and

discarded chemicals; discarded chemicals other than those mentioned in 16 05 06, 16 05 07 or 16 05 08

- Contaminated packaging: Wash off thoroughly with water. Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible and after

appropriate cleansing may be taken for reuse. Contaminated packagings are to be treated like the product itself.
