In the temperature range of 380 °C – 470 °C an endothermic effect (melting) was observed. No further thermic effects could be observed up to the maximum measured temperature of 500 °C.

Results of the DSC-measurements

Sample weight [mg] Onset of Effect [°C] Range of effect [°C] Weight loss [mg] Atmospheric pressure [hPa]
30.45 435.67 400 – 470 (endo) 0.45 1007.5
18.74 434.06 380 – 470 (endo) 0.11 1018.0

During the heating phase a distinct endothermic effect was observed in the temperature range of 380 – 470 °C, which can be assigned to the melting of the test item. As the onset temperatures in both tests deviate by more than 0.5 K from their mean value of 434.87 °C, this temperature can be used as melting point. The test item has a melting range of 434 – 436 °C.

Since no further endothermic effects could be observed up to the maximum test temperatur of 500 °C, it can be stated that the test item has no boiling point up to 500 °C.

Conclusions:
The test item Cesium fluoroaluminate has a melting range of 434 – 436 °C at atmospheric pressure (1008 hPa) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.1. and OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995).
