Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

Any other information on results incl. tables

Assay No. 1

Duration of the test :24 hours

Observations/results

The edge length of the cubic sample container was 25 mm.

The internal temperature in the oven was 140 °C. The minimum temperature and maximum temperature were 141 °C.

The minimum temperature of the test item was 136 °C and its maximum temperature was 141 °C.

At the start of the test, the test item was a blue homogeneous powder. At the end, the test item remained a blue homogeneous powder.

No self-ignition temperature of the test item was recorded and the temperature of the sample did not exceed the oven temperature by 60 °C (corrected value).

Assay No. 2

Duration of the test : 24 hours

Observations/results

The edge length of the cubic sample container was 100 mm.

The internal temperature in the oven was 140 °C. The minimum temperature was 139 °C and maximum temperature was 140 °C.

The minimum temperature of the test item was 105 °C and its maximum temperature was 230 °C.

At the start of the test, the test item was a blue homogeneous powder. At the end, the test item became hard and remained blue.

A self-ignition temperature of the test item was recorded and the temperature of the sample exceeded the oven temperature by 60 °C (corrected value). As a consequence, a third assay was made with the test item in a 100 mm edge length sample cube at 100 °C as

the test item is to be carried in packaging of not more than 450 litre volumes (information provided by the Sponsor).

Assay No. 3

Duration of the test 24 hours

Observations/results

The edge length of the cubic sample container was 100 mm.

The internal temperature in the oven was 100 °C. The minimum temperature and maximum temperature were 141 °C.

The minimum temperature of the test item was 48 °C and its maximum temperature was 102 °C.

At the start of the test, the test item was a blue homogeneous powder. At the end, the test item remained a blue homogeneous powder.

No self-ignition of the test item was recorded and the temperature of the sample did not exceed the oven temperature by 60 °C.
