The toxicity for soil organisms (plants and microorganisms) of the read-across substance n-butyl phosphorothioc triamide (NBPT) was assessed on the basis of studies conducted with urea fertilizer containing the urease inhibitor. The most sensitive effect concentration stems from toxicity-testing with soil microorganisms resulting in an EC50 of 0.05 mg/kg dw soil (Bremner et al., 1986)
