In the preliminary test (heating ramp of 5 K/min, ignition flame was dipped into the test item every 1 K) ignitions were observed at 191 °C and 200 °C. In the main test (constant oven temperature, for each temperature step a fresh sample is used) no ignition was observed within an equilibration time of 120 seconds up to 211.0 °C.

Subsequently the equilibration time was varied and the ignition flame was dipped into the test item approximately every 10 seconds, Table 4.11/3. Each single test was limited to a maximum duration of 300 seconds or until ignition occurred.

The lowest flash point corrected to 1013 hPa was rounded down with an accuracy of 0.5 °C giving a value of 190.0 °C.
