Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is an orange organic powder at 20 °C and 1013 hPa that is expected to decomposes before melting. It is supposed to have a D50 in the non respirable fraction, to be very soluble and with a negative log Kow. It is moreover considered to be not flammable, autoflammable, explosive and potentially oxidising.

Additional information

As no data on target substance was available, a read across approach with Similar Substance 01 was used. Target and read across substance have exactly the same chemical structure and they only differ in the extent of salification of 2 sulphonic acid groups. In particular, target substance is multi-constituent substance containg both the acidic form (11.3 %) and the sodium salt (57.9 %), while Similar Substance 01 contains the sodium salt.

Moreover, the 2 substances have the same impurities profile, mainly water and inorganic salts.

Differences in the extent of salification are not expected to significantly influence the physicochemical properties, thus the read across is considered as acceptable and reliable for the assessment.

Details on the read across are available in section 13.
