Description of key information

The substance is an inorganic solid and insoluble in water. Therefore, its log Kow is expected to be << 3. Hence, the substance has no potential for bioaccumulation, and bioaccumulation of the substance is of no concern. Based on its physical-chemical properties, no further testing is required in accordance with EC 1907/2006, Annex IX, point 9.3.2, column 2.

Additional information

In order to satisfy requests of a non-European Competent Authority, tin sulfide was tested with reference to OECD Guideline 305 "Bioconcentration: Flow-through Fish Test”. During the test (28 d) the range of the BCF value of test substance was between 24 and 558, when exposed to the supersaturated solution of the test item, i.e. the log BCF is < 3.
