Description of key information

Hazardous to the aquatic environment - acute

During the OECD No. 202 and 201 are been observed (i) immobilization at 24 and 48 hours, (ii) toxicity.

The values of toxicity are the followings:

- 72 h EC50 - Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata - 1,3-1,7 mg/L;

- 48 h EC50 (mg/L) - Daphnia magna - 3.1 mg/L.

Because these values are not ≤ 1 mg/l, Delmopinol HCl is not judged as hazardous.

Hazardous to the aquatic environment - chronic

Delmopinolo HCl was found to be not ready and completely biodegradable under the conditions applied in a manometric respirometry test, since no biodegradation was reached during the test period.

Considering (i) the toxicity values are comprised between > 1 - ≤ 10 mg/l and (ii) biodegradation data, Delmopinol HCl is classified as Aquatic Chronic 2; H411.
