- Photoperiod: 16 hours light, 8 hours dark
- Light intensity: Fluorescent light
- Temperature: 20 to 24°C +/- 1°C

EFFECT PARAMETERS MEASURED (with observation intervals if applicable): Mortalities were recorded at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. Symptons of toxicity were observed daily.

Details on results:
- Behavioural abnormalities: At 18 mg/L swimming behaviour and loss of equilibrium were recorded as moderate symptoms.
- Mortality of control: 0% mortality in blank or vehicle controls.
Reported statistics and error estimates:
The LC50 values were calculated according to BERKSON, JASA 48 (1953), 569-599.
The LC-values were graphically determined on gausso-logarithmic probability paper.

Executive summary:

In this guideline (EU C.1) study, the 96 hour LC50 to fish for the test material (EC 213-426-9) was determined to be 24 mg/l. The test was conducted in Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio) under static conditions (freshwater), with test concentrations ranging from 10 to 100 mg/l. The study result does not trigger classification as hazardous for the aquatic environment under the the conditions of the Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) regulation (1272/2008), as the test material is readily biodegradable and has a BCF <500.

Additional information

In a toxicity study on fish according to the Official Journal of the European Communities L251, vol.27, C-01, 19/09/1984 (CIBA-GEIGY Ltd., 1990), the toxicity of the test item was determined. Zebra fish were used as test organisms and the LC50 (96 h) determined in the test was 24 mg/L.
