Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Adsorption/desorption: Using the PCKOCWIN v1.66 of EPI Suite v3.20, the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of ethyl chloroacetate is estimated as 11.85, using a log Koc of 1.074. This estimated coefficient value suggest that ethyl chloroacetate is expected to have very high adsorption.

Henry's Law constant: Using the HENRYWIN v3.10 model of EPI Suite v3.20, the Henry's Law constant for ethyl chloroacetate is estimated as 54.41x10-6atm.m3/mole at 25 ºC. This Henry's Law constant indicates that ethyl chloroacetate is expected to volatilize from water surfaces and volatilization from moist soil surfaces may occur.

Distribution modelling: Using the Fugacity_LEVEL3NT model of EPI Suite, EPA (US) v3.20 the following results were obtained:

Percent distribution in media:

Air: 10.4%; Water: 41.9%; Soil: 47.6%; Sediment: 0.08%

Persistence time: 326 h = 14 d

Half lifes; Air: 212 h = 9 d; Water: 360 h = 15 d; Soil: 720 h = 30 d; Sediment: 3,240 h = 135 d; Volatilization from water; Half life vom Model river: 17.09 h; from Model Lake: 279.3 h = 11.64 d
