Description of key information

Volunteers were exposed to a milled plastic containing either 0.5% or 5% of the test substance in order to test for skin sensitization. Based on the content of the test item, the volunteers received 9 doses of about 0.014 or 0.14 mg/kg bw that were applied dermally for 24h over a period of three weeks.
After a treatment free period, a challenge exposure was done and the substance was found to be non sensitizing in humans. No signs of intoxication were reported. The incidence of erythema, while low, appeared to be dose-related.
