Description of key information
The adsorption/desorption of TOS as a whole substance is not scientifically necessary or meaningful for the purpose of environmental exposure assessment. It is necessary to consider the adsorption properties of the individual constituents of TOS. As a consequence, in this section, only data describing the adsorption/desorption of TOS constituents are considered.
Additional information
The distribution in a wastewater treatment plant for the constituent blocks of TOS has been estimated using the SimpleTreat model (implemented in EUSES 2.1.2/Chesar 3.5) based on the physicochemical and biodegradation properties of the constituent blocks, see the table below. These distributions are also indicative of the distribution in the wider environment.
The estimated distribution for each TOS block is shown in Table 4.2.6.
