Phototransformation in air

Estimated half-lives for the components of this UVCB substance range from 1.5 to 2.9 hours.

 

Hydrolysis

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable. Ether bonds are stable and do not hydrolyse to a significant extent at environmental relevant condition.

 

Biodegradation

Ready biodegradability (Manometric Respirometry) 91 % biodegradation after 28 d. (440 g/mol average molecular weight)

Inherent biodegradability results ranged between 20 and 66% in 28 days for 440 - 720 g/mol average molecular weight.

The substance is readily biodegradable.

 

Bioaccumulation

With a log Kow ≤3, the substance can be considered to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.

 

Adsorption/desorption

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance can be expected to have a low potential for sorption (log Kow ≤3). The estimated Koc values for homologous components of this UVCB substance range from 12 to 22280 L/kg for the lowest (least sorptive) and highest (most sorptive) molecular weight homologues. The components of this UVCB substance can be regarded as having low affinity for adsorption to soils and activated sludge biosolids.
