Description of key information

The soil biodegradation half life was determined using the ultimate biodegradation expert survey model of the BIOWIN v4.11 estimation program (Biowin 3) of EPIWEB v 4.11

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in soil:
75 d
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The soil biodegradation half life of 'Glycerides, C16-18' was determined using the ultimate biodegradation expert survey model of the BIOWIN v4.11 estimation program (Biowin 3) of EPIWEB v 4.11 for each of its constituents i.e., mono, di, triglycerides and fatty acids. The biodegradation half-life in water for the components determined using the BIOWIN3 estimation program were doubled to get the biodegradation half-life in soil. The estimated half life in soil for 'Glycerides, C16-18', consisting of mono, di, triglycerides and fatty acids ranges from 17.4 to 75 days (US EPA, 2021).
