Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence

The substance is neither readily biodegradable nor inherently biodegradable and does not undergo hydrolysis in aquatic media, hence it can not clearly be stated whether the substance might not be persistent.

Bioaccumulation

A test on bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is not needed due to the very low potential of the test substance for bioaccumulation indicated by a low logKow (logKow = -1.3, experimental result at pH 9.3). Therefore, the substance is presumably not a "B" substance.

Toxicity

Based on the results obtained from the acute aquatic toxicity studies including sediment, the substance is presumably not a “T” substance because EC/LC50 are clearly above 0.1 mg/l (according to the screening criteria laid down in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment).

Further, the substance is not classified as CMR according to Directive 67/548/ EEC (DSD) nor as CMR according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008 (CLP-Regulation) and the substance does not exhibit any othere evidence of chronic toxicity, as identified by the classifications T, R48 or Xn according to Directive 67/548/ EEC (DSD) or specif target organ toxicity after repeated exposure (STOT RE Cat. 1 or 2) according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008 (CLP-Regulation).
