Additional information

As an inorganic substance, yttrium oxide is not biodegradable. Based on the analogy made with comparable salts of yttrium, yttrium carbonate and yttrium chloride should not show any potential for bioaccumulation.

According to all the available data, yttrium oxide does not require any classification for the environmental part under the 1272/2008/EC regulation, on the basis on the absence of adverse effect at the limit of solubility and the absence of bioaccumulation potential.
