Conclusions:
The test material did not change in appearance under the conditions used in the determination. The vapour pressure of Cashew (Anacardium occidentale) Nutshell Extract, Decarboxylated, Distilled (Distilled Grade) was determined to be 0.00005 Pa at 25°C in an OECD Guideline 104 study, conducted under GLP conditions.
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of Cashew nutshell liquid (measured using a distilled grade CNSL sample) was determined in an OECD 104 Vapour Pressure test. This study was conducted to Good Laboratory Practice.

The vapour pressure was determined using a vapour pressure balance system with measurements being made at several temperatures and a linear regression analysis analysis used to calculate the vapour pressure at 25°C. A sequence of runs was conducted after a sample of test material had been under vacuum for approximately 19.5 hours. Temperature and pressure readings were taken between 90 and 100°C with a one hour dwell at 90°C between runs.

The vapour pressure was determined to be 5 x10-5 Pa at 25°C.

This study is classified acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirement for a vapour pressure study.
