Details on results:
Based on the preliminary the solubility in noctanol was detenmined by means of the flask method, which is also used for the determination of the water solubility. The partition coefficient can be calculated from the solubilities in water (59.5 g/l) and n-octanol (8.82 mg/l) .

Conclusions:
The partition coefficient at 20°C of the main constituent of the test item Acid Red RN 2949 was calculated from the solubilities in water and n-octanol:main constituent: log Pow = -3.8
