Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two valid experiments were performed using 5 concentrations 10 / 32 / 100 / 320 / 1000 mg/kg. Sieved soil was exposed to the test item for 28 days. The soil pH was not adjusted.

After 0 and 28 days, the nitrate content of the soil (OECD 216) and the O2 consumption (OECD 217) of each treatment was determined.

A blank control was tested.

- OECD 216: the treatments showed reduction of Nitrate production ranging from 0.8 to 43.3 % inhibition compared to the control. Therefore the 28 d EC50 can be stated as > 1000 mg/kg and 28d EC10 = 51 mg/kg.

- OECD 217: no concentrations showed inhibition of oxygen consumption after addition of glucose compared to the control. Therefore the 28 d EC50 can be stated as > 1000 mg/kg.

No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the studies outcome (uncritical deviations)

The result of the tests can be considered valid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 for soil microorganisms:
1 000 mg/kg soil dw
Long-term EC10 or NOEC for soil microorganisms:
51 mg/kg soil dw
