Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) Registry file contains an estimated value for the flash point of 139.1 ± 11.7°C, which was calculated using the Advanced Chemistry Development (ACD) model. At this temperature, the substance is above its melting point of 120 to 121°C, but still below 260°C, where the liquid begins to decompose, so it is reasonable to accept that the liquid could be sufficiently volatile at ~140°C to create a flammable mixture with air.
