First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Dry powder or halon type

extinguisher may be used. Avoid the use of water.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Products of combustion may

contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen together with hydrogen

chloride and some soot.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: None recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage and remove personnel from the affected

area. Sweep up spill and place in a suitably labelled

container for disposal at a landfill site or by

incineration in accordance with local regulations. Avoid

discharge to waste waters.

Handling and storage

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery by recrystallisation is possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance can be disposed of at a suitable landfill of

class 1 containment. Disposal at a non-containment site is

not recommended as the substance is not readily

biodegradable. Discharge to controlled waters not

recommended, maximum concentration should be 10 mg/l.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility with a

temperature of approx 1200 deg C. Waste gas treatment to

remove nitrogen oxides and hydrogen chloride gas should be

fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should be diluted in excess of 2.5 times the

required to ensure outlet concentrations below the no

observed effect level and inlet concentration of 25 mg/l.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
