Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Acute Fish Toxicity:

Water accommodated fractions of hydrocarbons, C8-C10, cyclics, <2% aromatics, produced a 96-hour LL50 value of 3.6 mg/L with rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss. These data are used as read-across data to hydrocarbons, C9-C11, cyclics, <2% aromatics.

Chronic Fish Toxicity:

The hydrocarbons, C9-C11, cyclics, <2% aromatics, estimated freshwater fish 28-day NOELR (No Observed Effect Loading Rate) value is 0.096 mg/l based on growth.

Acute Invertebrate Toxicity:

The water accommodated fraction (WAF) of hydrocarbons, C9-C10, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <2% aromatics, produced a 50% effect (immobility) with Daphnia magna at a loading of >22-<46 mg/L after a 48-hour exposure. These data are used as read-across data to hydrocarbons, C9-C11, cyclics, <2% aromatics.

Chronic Invertebrate Toxicity:

The hydrocarbons, C9-C11, cyclics, <2% aromatics, estimated freshwater invertebrate 21-day NOELR (No Observed Effect Loading Rate) value is 0.168 mg/l based on reproduction.

Algal Toxicity:

Growth of alga cultures, as measured by biomass, exposed to water accommodated fractions (WAFs) of hydrocarbons, C9-C11, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, <2% aromatics, prepared at 1000 mg/L was inhibited by 50% after 72 hours. Therefore, the 72-hr ELb50 value is reported as 1000 mg/L. In comparison, growth of alga cultures, as measured by growth rate, were not inhibited by more than 50% by the 1000 mg/L WAF after 72 hours. Therefore, the 72-hr ELr50 value is reported as >1000 mg/L. The 72-hr NOELR values for biomass and growth rate are 1 and <1 mg/L, respectively. These data are used as read-across data to hydrocarbons, C9-C11, cyclics, <2% aromatics.

Microorganisms Toxicity:

The hydrocarbons, C9-C11, cyclics, <2% aromatics, estimated protozoan, Tetrahymena pyriformis, 48-hr EL50 value for this substance is 0.568 mg/L based on growth inhibition.
