Medium:
other: corn oil
Solubility:
> 250 other: g/kg
Temp.:
36.2 °C
Medium:
other: corn oil
Solubility:
> 5 630 other: g/kg
Test substance stable:
not determined
Details on results:
- Temperature effects:
As determined by visual observation, up to 5 mL of test substance was completely soluble in 1 mL of corn oil. The density of C-4000 is 1.0132 g/mL (2), and the density of corn oil is 0.900 g/mL. By multiplying the volumes of test substance and corn oil added by their respective densities, the weight ratio of test substance to corn oil was determined to be 5.066 g:0.900 g. This gives an approximate solubility of greater than 5,630 g/kg under
ambient conditions.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
At 36.2°C, the solubility of C-4000 in fat was determined to be >250 g/kg.
Under ambient conditions, the solubility of C-4000 in fat was determined to be >5,630 g/kg.
