Description of key information

Short term toxicity to fish

A long-term toxicity to fish study is available, the short-term toxicity testing on fish does not need to be conducted.

Long term toxicity to fish

The exposure of newly fertilized eggs of fathead minnows to the test material was considered to have no effect on the hatching success or the survival and growth of the larvae. The No Observed Effect Loading Rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Key Study:

In a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202, under GLP conditions, the 48 -hour acute toxicity to the freshwater invertebrate (daphnia magna) EL50 is greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate is 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Toxicity to aquatic algae

Key study:

In an OECD guideline for the testing of chemicals (2006) No. 201 "Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test". referenced as Method C3 of Commission Regulation(EC) 761/2009 the effect on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been investigated and gave EL*50 values of greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading Rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Toxicity to micro-organisms

Key Study:

The potential toxic effect was tested according to OECD Guideline 209 (Test for Activated Sludge, Respiration Test). The toxicity of microorganisms was measured by an EC50 of 1000 mg/L and a No observed effect concentration (NOEC) of 1000 mg/l.
