Description of key information

A static acute toxicity test with activated sludge was performed in year 2012 according to OECD Guideline 209 and GLP.
The mean respirations rates of the sludge exposed to LZ649 were decreased, at most, by 27% at 1000 mg/L. Consequently the EC20/50/80 values could not be accurately determined as insufficient inhibition was observed to identify the concentration-response relationship. The lowest observed effect concentration (LOEC) for LZ649 was 1000 mg/L. The no observed effect concentration (NOEC) for LZ649 was 320 mg/L. The three-hour EC50 for 3,5-DCP (4.96 mg/L) fulfilled the validity criterion relating to sensitivity to inhibition (acceptable EC50 range 2 to 25 mg/L). The validity criterion relating to the respiration rates in the control (specific respiration rate ≥20 mgO2/gh and a coefficient of variation of≤30%) was also satisfied.
