First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:


- General advice: If you feel unwell, seek medical advice.


- Following inhalation: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.


- Following skin contact: Wash skin with plenty of water.


- Following eye contact: Rinse eyes with water as a precaution.


- Following ingestion: Rinse mouth. Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell.


Symptoms and effects: None known. Non-hazardous substance.


Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Treat symptomatically

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:


- Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide.


- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.


 


Special hazards arising fom the substance or mixture:


- Hazardous decomposition products in case of fire:  Under fire conditions, hazardous fumes will be present: Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide.


 


Advice for firefighters:


- Fire fighting measures: Evacuate personnel to a safe area. Move containers from fire area if it can be done without personal risk. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Prevent fire fighting water
from entering the environment.


- Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus. Complete protective clothing.

Protective equipment : Wear recommended personal protective equipment


Emergency procedures : Evacuate unnecessary personnel. Ventilate spillage area. Do not touch or walk on the spilled product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing dust.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:


For containment: Stop leak without risks if possible. Avoid creating or spreading dust. Do not touch or walk on the spilled product.


Methods for cleaning up: Shovel or sweep up and put in a closed container for disposal. Never return spills in original containers for possible later re-use. Small amounts: Flush contaminated areas with  plenty of water.


Other information: Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site,

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Appropriate engineering controls: Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Do not expose to temperatures above 200 °C / 392 °F.


Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:


- Eye/face protection: In case of dust production, safety googles (EN166)


- Skin and body protection: Long sleeved protective clothing.


- Hand protection: In case of repeated or prolonged contact wear protective gloves (EN374):


Butyl rubber, chloroprene rubber (CR), polyvinylchloride (PVC). Glove thickness: 0.5 mm. Break through time: > 8 hours.
Nitrile rubber (NBR). Glove thickness: 0.35 mm. Break through time: > 8 hours.


- Respiratory protection: No respiratory protection needed under normal use conditions. Where exposure through inhalation may occur from use, respiratory protection equipment is
recommended. Dust mask, Type P2, EN 149.


Hygiene measures:


Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety procedures. Ensure staff are informed of and trained on the nature of exposure and basic actions to minimise exposure. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling the product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.


Environmental exposure controls: Avoid release to the environment.

- Reactivity: The product is non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.


- Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.


- Possibility of hazardous reactions: No dangerous reactions known under normal conditions of use.


- Conditions to avoid: Do not expose to temperatures above 200 °C / 392 °F.


- Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.
