Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A10: The UN test No.1 showed by application the prescribed preliminary test that the sample could not be ignited. Only in presence of the ignition flame (gas burner) a glowing was observed but not a propagation of burning. Due to the test results the sample can be excluded from the hazard class "flammable solid". It is not a dangerous good of Div.4.1 "readily combustible solids".

A11: In accordance with Regulation No 1907/2006 Annex XI a test according to A.11 (flammability; gases) is not considered to be required, since the substance is a solid powder with a melting point of 506°C and no boiling point up to 600°C, and therefore not a gas at room temperature.

A12: Testing for flammability in contact with water is not considered to be required, because the substance does not contain groups that might lead to a reaction with water or damp air, leading to the development of dangerous amounts of gas or gases which may be highly flammable. Furthermore, long-term industrial experience in practical handling of the substance shows that it does not react with water, and recent experimental testing for water solubility has also not reported any formation of gases (in accordance with section 1, Annex XI of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH)).

A13: Testing for pyrophoric properties of solids is not considered to be required, since this substance is stable at ambient temperature. This substance also does not contain any chemical groups that might lead to spontaneous ignition a short time after coming in contact with air at room temperature (circa 20°C). Furthermore, long-term industrial experience in handling shows that the substance does not ignite in contact with air (in accordance with section 1, Annex XI of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH)).
