Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In the Klimisch 1 GLP study from Kimmel (2013) the acute toxicity of item Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, 4-[2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]ethyl] ester, N-C18-unsatd. acyl derivs., disodium salts on Daphnia magna was determined in an 48 hour static test according to OECD 202 and EU method C.2. The test was performed with concentrations of 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg test item/L and a blank control. Four replicates with 5 daphnids each were set up. The measured concentrations of the test item in the test media of the test concentrations of 6.25 to 100 mg test item/L were between 95 and 104% of the nominal values at the start of the test and between 77 and 84% at the end of the test. Thus, the correct dosage of the test item was confirmed, but the test item decreased in the test media over the test period of 48 hours. Therefore the biological results were related to the following mean measured test item concentrations calculated as the geometric means of the concentrations measured at the start and end of the test. After 48 hours 0, 35, 100. 100, 100 and 100 % immobilization was observed in the control and at mean measured test concentrations of 5.8, 11, 21, 44 and 94 mg test item/L, respectively. The EC50 is 6.1 mg /L.

The results are considered relevant and reliable for the risk assessment.
