Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The 72-hour EbC50, ErC50 and EyC50 values for the test item could not be calculated but must be >0.613 mgC/L and the “no observed effect concentration” for area under the growth curve, growth rate and yield was =0.613 mgC/L, derived from a WAF with a nominal loading rate of =100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity (inhibition of growth rate) of the test itemfor a duration of 72 hours was assessed according to the OECD Guideline 201.

Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed under static conditions to WAF solutions with loading rates of 4.27, 9.39, 20.7, 45.5 and 100 mg/L (WAF) in dilution water, as the test item is highly insoluble. Concentrations were assessed based on the Total Organic Carbon content. The analytical results obtained confirmed that the test item is highly insoluble. However, as the test item is an UVCB and as a WAF solution was prepared, the TOC concentrations measured are the concentrations of the soluble part of the item item and are not representative of all the UVCB. Therefore, the effect concentrations used for risk assessment has to be based on the loading rates. Therefore, the loading rate of test item causing a 50 % reduction in growth rate was estimated to be higher that 100 mg/L. The 72h EC50based on the TOC content was estimated to be higher than 0.613 mgC/L.
