Description of key information

Key study: The test substance contains none of the reactive groups that could be responsible for explosive properties. Therefore explosive properties of EAC3 are unlikely.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Key study: The test substance contains none of the reactive groups (e.g. listed in Bretherick's Handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards, on page S20 ff, 5thedition, 1995, Butterworth-Heinemann, Oxfordand) that could be responsible for explosive properties. Therefore explosive properties of EAC3 are unlikely.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Since there is no chemical group associated with explosive properties present in the molecule, EAC3 is considered to be non explosive; therefore, the substance is not classified in accordance with CLP Regulation (EC) no. 1272/2008.
