Additional information

The intermediate called PRODUCT L6143 is mainly composed of Amides, vegetable oil, N, N-bis(hydroxyethyl) at ca 86%. This component cannot be well defined on chain lenghts, number of insaturations and types of fatty acids. In fact, the term "vegetable oil" is used to describe this main component.

The product is a clear brownish Liquid at 20 °C, with a measured pH between 11.2 – 11.6 (diluted 10 % in water). Density is 1.0 g/cm3. 1

The DSC report of the product is available (attached below).

The boiling point cannot be defined from the graph, but it is considered > 100 °C.1

From the DSG graph it can also be concluded that the substance starts to degrade from 250 °C.1

Some of the phys-chem properties can be estimated from similar components of the main component:

Lauramide diethanolamine (LDEA) CAS 120-40-1

Coconut fatty acid diethanolamide, Amides, coco, N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) CAS 68603-42-9

Amides, C8-18 (even numbered) and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl), CAS 68155-07-7

Amides, C12-18 (even-numbered) and C18 (unsatd.), N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl), CAS 90622-74-5

Amides, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl), CAS 68603-38-3

The vapour pressure could be low, in fact, the vapour pressure of  amides, C8 -18 and C18 -unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyetyl) determined at 20°C and 25°C is 1.39 x 10-4 Pa and 2.91 x 10-4 Pa, respectively, while the vapour pressure of amides, C12-18 (even-numbered) and C18(unsatd.), N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) is ≤ 9.3x10 -4 Pa [9.3x10 -6 mbar] at 20 °C.2 3

The vapour pressure of Lauramide diethanolamine (LDEA )was determined to be 0.0015 and 0.0058 Pa at 20 and 25°C).4

It can be a lipofilic substance, in fact, the similar substance Coconut oil diethanolamine condensate) has a log Kow of 3.53, Lauramide diethanolamine (LDEA) > 5.90, Amides, C8 -18 and C18 -unsatd., N,N-bishydroxyethyl has a log Kow of ca.1.35 <= 4.84, and the log Pow of amides, C12-18 (even-numbered) and C18 (unsatd.), N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) is 4.2.

Amides, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) has a log Kow of 6.52 2 3 5 6

PRODUCT L6143 is not flammable, the flash point is > 100 °C. 1
