Description of key information

The boiling point of methylmagnesium chloride 22% in tetrahydrofuran according to the Siwoloboff method was 69.2 °C under 89.68 kPa atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination of the boiling point of methylmagnesium chloride 22% in tetrahydrofuran according to the Siwoloboff method revealed the values 69.2 °C, 68.9 °C and 69.4 °C under 89.68 kPa atmospheric pressure. Therefore the boiling point was 69.2 °C under 89.68 kPa atmospheric pressure. As the atmospheric pressure of the measured boiling point was not in the range of +/- 5 kPa to the standard atmospheric pressure (101.325 kPa) the calculation to normal boiling point according to the equation of Sidney Young is not feasible.
