Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wipe of excess material with disposable towels and then wash

affected area with soap and plenty of water. If irritation

develops seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical may be used. For large

fires use water spray or fog. Water mist may be used to cool

closed containers.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and phosphorus.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full personal protective equipment and a self-contained

breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Contain spill with a dike or trench and pump into drums or

absorb with inert material (e.g. sand) and shovel into

clean-up drums. Gloves, eye protection and protective

clothing should be worn. New drums should be clearly

labelled and the contents disposed of in accordance with

local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance itself and the grease preparation in which it

is imported both have low volatility. Local exhaust

ventilation would not normally be needed. It is recommended

that impervious gloves (made from PVC or butyl rubber) be

worn when handling. Protective clothing and eye protection

to appropriate standards should also be worn when exposure

is likely. Respiratory protection is not normally needed.

Storage: No specific precautions are needed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene lined drums and kegs.

Also 400 g cartridges

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Exposure to strong oxidisers should be avoided as may

generate heat, fires, explosions and/or toxic vapours.

Chemical reaction with water: None

Dust explosion: There is no potential dust explosion hazard from this

viscous liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: As long as any recovered substance is free from

contamination it could be re-used for lubrication

purposes. The limiting factor is whether the substance could

be repackaged into containers that fit the application

requirements. Spent grease would not be recycled.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is possible at a suitable facility. Waste gas

scrubbing to remove oxides of carbon, nitrogen and

phosphorus is required.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance does not enter the public domain.
