Description of key information

No data are available for the substance. However, atrazine (2-chloro-4-ethylamine-6-isopropylamine- 1,3,5-triazine, CAS Nr 1912-24-9) has the same base structure: It is a triazine, diamine, and is at the same position chlorinated. While the test substance carries two secondary amine side chains, atrazine has two primary amines as side chains, both times in meta-position. Based on this structural similarity to atrazine it can be assumed that the substance has similar effects to human health. In a 1-yr study in dogs atrazine induced severe cardiac effects (in accordance to IUCLID Dataset Atrazine, Feb. 18, 2000).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Regulation (EC) 1272/2008

As atrazine is classified as STOT Rep. 2 in Annex VI of regulation (EC) 1272/2008 this classification is taken for the test article as well, based on the structural similarity and due to the lack of data with the test article itself. The cardiovascular system was identified as target organ.
