Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice

When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

If inhaled

If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.

In case of skin contact

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Remove contaminated, saturated clothing and shoes immediately. In case of skin irritation, consult a physician.

In case of eye contact

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately consult an ophthalmologist.

If swallowed

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a physician.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

no information available

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

no information available

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam or dry chemical

Unsuitable extinguishing media

High power water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Emission of irritating and toxic fumes and gases. Release of: Carbon oxides, Nitrogen oxides

Advice for firefighters

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting. Full protection suit.

Additional information

Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses. Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Cool endangered containers by water spray or water jet.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Soak up with inert, non-acidic and non-combustible absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Clean up affected area.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice: Do not eat, drink, and smoke. Wash hands before break and after work.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Hints on joint storage

Storage separated from: oxidising agents

For storage in a common place refer to the respective regulations.

Suitable container material: stainless steel

Specific end use(s)

intermediate under strictly controlled conditions

Exposure controls / personal protection

European occupational exposure limits

no data available

Appropriate engineering controls

Provide adequate ventilation as well as local exhaustion at critical locations. Provide eye wash equipment and emergency shower near the workplace.

Eye/face protection

Tightly fitting safety goggles. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as EN166(EU).

Skin protection

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the standard EN 374. Gloves must be inspected prior to use.

The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.

Recommended glove material: Nature latex/chloroprene

Minimum layer thickness: 0.6 mm

Break through time: 480 min

Body Protection

Complete suit protecting against chemicals, The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.

Respiratory protection

Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face respirator with type ABEK (EN 14387) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full-face supplied air respirator.

Control of environmental exposure

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

No data available

Chemical stability

May absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) from air.

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.

Conditions to avoid

Heat, sun light

Incompatible materials

Oxidizing agents,

copper, zinc, iron

acids, bases

Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions: Carbon oxides, Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Disposal considerations

Advice on disposal

Chemicals and packages as waste must be disposed of in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and the respective national and local regulations. Consult your local or regional authorities. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.

Contaminated packaging

Non-contaminated packages may be recycled. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
