A number of published values are available for the upper and lower flammability of 2 -(2 -butoxyethoxy)ethanol. The values for the lower limit cover a reasonably narrow range of values and at least 2 or 3 are clearly different which suggest that they originate from different sources. No single value is from a reliable source but this weight of evidence allows confidence in the decided key parameter which is based on an average of the quoted values to rounded values. Which of the UEL figures is correct is less clear. As a conservative approach the highest value is selected, leading to a flammability range taken as 0.7 - 24.6%. This information combined with the data on the flash point lead to the conclusion for the key parameter.
