Additional information

Skin irritation/corrosion:

No skin irritation was caused by 15 minutes exposure to the test substance. C.I. Pigment Violet 55 is not irritating to skin and no classification is needed according to EC regulation 1272/2008.

Eye irritation:

C. I. Pigment Violet 55 is not irritant in the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability test under the experimental conditions described in this report and did not trigger classification according to EC regulation 1272/2008.

Justification for selection of skin irritation / corrosion endpoint:
One key study is available.

Justification for selection of eye irritation endpoint:
One key study is available.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results mentioned above, C. I. Pigment Violet 55 does not have to be classified and has no obligatory labelling requirement for skin and eye irritation in accordance with Regulation EC 1272/2008.
