Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
25-Apr-2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Justification for type of information:
The substance is typically sold as an aqueous solution with dry matter <30%. A solution containing at least 70% of water will not be flammable.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ISO 2719 (Determination of flash point - Pensky-Martens closed cup method)
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
closed cup
Flash point apparatus:
Pensky-Martens apparatus
Atm. press.:
1 008 hPa
Remarks on result:
not determinable, other reason:
Remarks:
Flame extinguished by vapours.

Results

The flame for the investigation of the flash point estinguishes from 47 °C due to escaping vapours. From ca. 100 °C the sample boils out of the flashpoint pot and would not warm up again.

Conclusion

Flashpoint not analyzable, because the flame was extinguished due the ingredients of the sample.

Description of key information

No flash point up to and beyond 100 °C. Sample boils above 100 °C (Pensky-Martens apparatus, ISO 2719).

Key value for chemical safety assessment
