Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water, foam, carbon

dioxide and dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Products of combustion may

contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur together with

chlorine gas, water and some soot.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Skin, eye and respiratory protection

should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage and remove personnel from the affected

area. Wear suitable protective equipment (See 2.3.1).

Collect the spillage by vacuum and transfer to a suitably

labelled container. Dispose of by incineration at a

suitable facility. Wash spill site with copious amounts of

water and detergent to remove residual material. Avoid dry

sweeping.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance contains an anti-dust forming agent to avoid

high levels of dust being raised. Ensure adequate

ventilation. An activated carbon filter dust mask, gloves

and safety goggles with side shields should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed, unbreakable container in a cool

dry place, away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be destroyed of by incineration at a

suitable facility using temperatures of 900 deg C for 10

minutes. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and sulfur

oxides and chlorine gas should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Waste water from the dyeing process should be treated by

procedures such as coagulation, sedimentation, biological

treatment and absorption by activated carbon etc. The

obtained sludge should then be incinerated after

filtration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of dyed articles which can be disposed of in normal

domestic waste.
