First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

General: If symptoms persist, call a physician or Poison Control Centre immediately.

Inhalation: IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. call a physician immediately.

Skin contact: Remove immediately adhering matter. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Call a physician if irritation develops or persists.

Eye contact: In case of eye contact, remove contact lens and rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician immediately.

Ingestion: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

General symptoms and effects: The product causes irritation of eyes, skin and mucous membranes. Symptoms: Irritation and corrosion, shortness of breath, cough.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Medical treatment: Treatment according to symptoms.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, Foam, Water spray.

Improper extinguishing media: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Hazardous combustion products: Carbon oxides, Sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx), Hydrogen fluoride

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Personal protection through wearing a tightly closed chemical protection suit and a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal protection measures: Personal protection through wearing a tightly closed chemical protection suit and a self-contained breathing apparatus.

For non-emergency personnel

Personal precautions: Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas.

Environmental precautions

Environmental precautionary measures: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Knock down dust with water spray jet.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Cleaning method: Use mechanical handling equipment. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Flush away traces with water.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the strictly controlled conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18 (4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from each affected distributor and downstream manufacturer/user of the registrant's intermediate.

Precautions for safe handling

Handling: Keep container closed. Handle and open container with care. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. During processing, dust may form explosive mixture in air.

Protective Safety Measures

Protective Safety Measures: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. May form flammable dust-air mixture. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Risk of dust explosion. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Other information: Storage class: TRGS 510 8A
