Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Bis[C11-14-(branched and linear)-alkyl]aminium nonadecaoxohexatungstate (EC 700-718-0), is a liquid, therefore the flash point study is more applicable for testing and the flammability study is waived.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A flammability study is applicable for solid substances, while a flash point study is applicable for liquids. Bis[C11-14-(branched and linear)-alkyl]aminium nonadecaoxohexatungstate (EC 700-718-0), is a liquid, therefore the flash point study is more applicable for testing and the flammability study is waived.

In addition, experience in the handling and use of this substance has given no indication that it has pyrophoric properties. Comparison of the chemical structure with the functional groups listed in the ECHA GIRCSA, Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, R.7.1.10.3, May 2008, indicates the substance is unlikely to have reactive properties towards water. During manufacture in aqueous solution no signs of reactivity towards water were noted and flammability in contact with water also is not expected based on chemical structure (neither the dialkylammonium moiety nor the hexatungsten nonadecaoxo moiety show any reactivity towards water).
