Additional information

The results obtained in a GLP study according to EU test method A.14 are supported by an analysis of the test item in relation to the screening criteria of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The submission substance was tested for possible explosive properties according to EU test method A.14 under GLP. With regard to all three test types applied, i.e. 1) thermal sensitivity, 2) sensitivity to shock and 3) sensitivity to friction, the test item showed no reaction that would inidicate any potential for explosivity. It is therefore not considered to be an explosive. This conclusion is further supported by an analysis of the test item in relation to the screening criteria of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria (1).

Further, results of the study performed according to EU test method A.10 (no ignition possible by application of a flame or a glowing platin wire) show that the test item is not flammable.

Concluding, no classification requirements exist for the submission substance with regard to explosive properties.
