yes (incl. QA statement)

Test material

Constituent 1
Reference substance name:
Enzymatically produced steviol glycosides
IUPAC Name:
Enzymatically produced steviol glycosides
Test material form:
solid: particulate/powder

Test solutions

Vehicle:
yes
Remarks:
OECD alga medium
Details on test solutions:
OECD alga growth medium was prepared by adding appropriate volume of the stock solutions 1 - 4 (10 mL of stock solution 1, 1 mL of stock solution 2, 1 mL of stock solution 3, 1 mL of stock solution 4) to 500 mL of sterilized deionized water and made up to 1000 mL. Sufficient time was given for equilibrating the medium with the atmospheric CO2 and pH was set to 8.1.

Test conditions

Test temperature:
During the test period all the culture flasks were maintained at the test medium temperature of 22.3º to 22.9ºC during dose range finding study and temperature of 22.3º to 22.8ºC during limit test.
pH:
The pH of the test nominal loading rates was ranged from 7.96 to 8.21 at the beginning (0 h) and 8.00 to 8.22 at the end of the test (72 h) during dose range finding study.
The pH of the test nominal loading rates was ranged from 7.67 to 7.83 at the beginning (0 h) and 7.61 to 7.81 at the end of the test (72 h) during limit test.
Reference substance (positive control):
yes
Remarks:
3, 5 Dichlorophenol 97%: NOEC=0.10mg/L; LOEC=0.23mg/L

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The 72 hours EL10, EL20, EL50 values based on the growth rate and yield in terms of nominal loading rate are greater than 100 mg/L.
NOELR and LOELR based on the growth rate and yield were calculated in terms of test nominal loading rates are 100 mg/L and greater than 100 mg/L respectively.
